I have worked with Dr. Salivonchik for eight years now and it still amazes me how a new smile changes peoples confidence and their self image. We recently finished a case for a middle aged women where we did porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns and teeth whitening. It not only made her look ten years younger but it clearly improved her confidence (prior to the work she covered her mouth to smile). When you think about it one of the first things people notice about you is your teeth.

We consider each patients needs and interest when helping them to make a change and enhance their appearance. We will take the time to work with you, whatever your needs and concerns are. Dr. Salivonchik is well trained in cosmetic dentistry and continues to take courses to keep up with the latest technology. I know you will be very pleased with your results

Smile, Coplay! Dr. Salivonchik offers All-Porcelain Crowns and Veneers for Beautiful Teeth

March 7, 2011

A natural-looking smile is a beautiful smile, and each of our patients has unique dental needs and goals. At our Coplay dental practice, Dr. Salivonchik offers all-porcelain CEREC crowns and veneers to enhance your health, and create restorations that blend seamlessly with your existing teeth for the smile that nature intended.

CEREC and e.max Porcelain Crowns for Strong, Healthy, Natural-looking Smiles

For a long time, porcelain crowns required a metal-based framework for stability and strength, and took two to three appointments for placement. Now, advanced CEREC technology allows us to custom-design, mill, and place your crown, all in one appointment. There’s no longer a need for temporary crowns that crack and break loose, or emergency visits to fix them. Instead, Dr. Salivonchik takes a 3D scan of your tooth, designs your crown to match the color, size, and shape of your other teeth, and CEREC mills the crown while you wait. Best of all, CEREC and e.max porcelain crowns contain no metal and are twice the strength of conventional porcelain crowns. Not only will your crown be natural-looking, it will also stand the test of time. (more…)

Curing Lights

Bonding, white fillings, porcelain veneers, onlays and crowns require attention to detail. Research shows that sensitivity and bond failure often results from incomplete polymerization of the material. Polymerization is initiated by a high intensity light which if not maintained or updated will underperform. This is a common problem. We monitor the intensity using an electronic device on a weekly basis. In addition we just invested in the highest rated light emitting diode curing light on the market. This is not something most people would ever think of, but it is important.

Not Necessarily Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers can correct a variety of esthetic issues. They have revolutionized how we practice dentistry, but they are not always the best way to correct certain problems. I recently saw a young man who was convinced that veneers were his only option. Unfortunately, most of his information came from advertisements which he had seen. In this case he wanted the space closed between his two front teeth. This could have been done with veneers but that would have required the removal of healthy tooth structure. It was much less costly and less invasive to bond the teeth without the removal of healthy tooth. We have incredible new materials with allow for a more conservative approach. In this case veneers were not the treatment of choice.
