It sits on top of the jawbone while allowing the posts from a metal framework to stick through the gum to attach the prosthetic teeth.<\/p>\n<h2>Titanium<\/h2>\n<p>Most dental implants are now made from titanium because it is biocompatible and hypoallergenic. It is also strong and durable while being lightweight.<\/p>\n<h2>Zirconia<\/h2>\n<p>In the event titanium cannot be used, a zirconia post may be needed.
