Some hallmarks of a youthful smile include smooth, rounded corners and a contrast between the length of your middle teeth (known as your central incisors) and the teeth directly next to those (called your lateral incisors). Compare this with an older smile, which is likely to be flatter and straighter with no difference between the incisors.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also important to consider the size and shape of your face when thinking about your smile. A patient with a longer face may want to design a smile with shorter incisors, while a patient with a smaller, rounder face may want to consider doing just the opposite.<\/p>\n

Teeth have slightly translucent edges, creating a halo effect, and often have a small notch in them instead of being perfectly round or flat.
